One of the big challenges in construction is doing a major refurbishment of a venue while it remains open for trading. It’s a challenge Fardoulys Constructions thrives on. We call this a ‘live environment’, and every care must be taken not to adversely affect the venue’s operations and profitability.
One of the best examples of how we achieve this is the extension and refurbishment of the Richlands Lions Football Club. The project included a complete refurbishment of the gaming room, sportsbar, and dining experience, as well as the addition of a 2-storey carpark and the stunning lion water feature at the club’s entrance.
Despite the huge transformation, the club remained open and trading throughout the entire project. The impact and duration of the work was significantly cut down by the use of precast concrete panels made off-site to a custom pattern. Our team was always cognisant of construction noise and dust and made every possible effort to minimise disruption and inconvenience to both patrons and staff through effective program-sequencing (work scheduling). The refurbishment also implemented eco-friendly timber cladding, natural lighting solutions and energy-efficient technologies to bring the building in line with best practices.
