Fardoulys Constructions was hired by the client to undertake a major gaming room refurbishment based on our competitive pricing and our projected time-to-build. Minimising disruption to the club’s income is critical in such a project, and our proposition included significant programming provisions to ensure the club could remain operational throughout the renovation.
In order to carry this out, the refurbishment was completed in 2 stages. Firstly, we removed half of the gaming room and amenities. Once the section was rebuilt and fully operational, we demolished the remainder, while the newly renovated section kept trading. Special features of the gaming room refurbishment included a custom broadloom carpet, custom pendant lighting, natural curved timber joinery, stone benchtops, French wallpapers, timber porthole windows, and custom LED entrance lighting.
COVID supply chain issues caused delays of deliveries of materials and equipment. Because these materials were critical to the opening of each stage, alternative fixtures were sourced by Fardoulys in a matter of days. One example was the unavailability of metal lined walls for the cash office; Fardoulys rose to the challenge by providing a custom structure to ensure the first stage could open with full compliance. Our team was required to do shift work to meet the dates set out in the schedule, and we flew up extra resources from our Brisbane office accordingly.
All challenges met and surmounted, the end results of the renovation were outstanding. We opened each stage on the original agreed dates, and to a very high-quality finish. Following the reopening, the client has enjoyed record profits at the club. Fardoulys Constructions looks forward to returning for future stages with the Hervey Bay Boat Club.
