Finance Manager (Construction & Property)

Autonomous Role | Work Directly with Director

Fardoulys Constructions is a long-established, family-owned construction and property group operating across South East Queensland. The business delivers commercial construction projects while also managing a portfolio of investment properties and pursuing selective development opportunities.

With plans for continued growth, we are seeking a hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of the finance function and work closely with the Director across operations and commercial decision-making.

This is a broad role offering exposure to construction, property investment, and future development opportunities, with a pathway to grow over time.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for the end-to-end finance function, while supporting the Director in managing business performance and financial outcomes.

This role requires someone who is comfortable being both hands-on with compliance and reporting, and contributing to commercial and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance & Compliance

  • End-to-end management of accounts across multiple entities
  • Monthly management reporting and financial analysis
  • QBCC compliance, including project trust accounting
  • BAS, payroll tax, PAYG, WorkCover, land tax and statutory reporting
  • Payroll and superannuation
  • Insurances (renewals and claims)
  • Bank guarantees and financing requirements
  • Budgets and performance tracking
  • Year-end processes and liaison with external accountants

Construction & Operations

  • Ownership of WIP reporting, cost-to-complete and margin analysis
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle financials and cost control
  • Cashflow forecasting and working capital management
  • Monthly project performance reviews with operational teams
  • Oversight of progress claims, creditors and month-end close
  • Post-project financial analysis

Property & Commercial

  • Financial management of investment properties (rent roll, reporting, performance)
  • Lease administration including rent reviews and renewals
  • Supporting the Director with commercial decisions and business performance
  • Exposure to feasibility analysis and broader business opportunities

About you:

  • CA/CPA qualified with 8+ years’ experience
  • Strong background in construction finance (essential)
  • Solid understanding of WIP, cost-to-complete and project cashflow
  • Experience with CHEOPS (preferred) or JOBPAC
  • Strong technical accounting and QBCC compliance knowledge
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented and commercially minded
  • Comfortable working directly with business owners
  • Able to operate autonomously and take full ownership of the role
  • Property or development exposure is advantageous but not essential.
